The purpose of the Payroll Officer position is to ensure all payroll changes, maintenance and data updates are performed and ready for the checking process. You will be responsible to ensure the completion of all payroll inputs, maintenance of related records, month end reporting requirements and assist with the Payroll Team where required. To be successful in this role you will need the following:- - Well developed skills in payroll processing
- Working knowledge of Superannuation processing
- Sound knowledge of New Zealand employment legislation
- Trouble shooting skills
Duties will include but not limited to:- - Maintaining New Zealand pay records
- Maintaining all Superannuation data, payment, queries
- Good understanding of procedure and processes related to New Zealand payroll activities
- Running of weekly (Australia & NZ) and monthly (NZ) payroll processing
- Maintaining knowledge of relevant legislation impacting New Zealand payroll responsibilities, such as Holidays Act, IRD taxation and Kiwisaver legislation.
Skills & Experience required:- - Three years experience (minimum) in New Zealand payroll function of a large public or private sector organisation.
- Three years experience (minimum) working within Superannuation process of a large organisation.
- Effective communication skills
- Experience with Excel, Word and Banking applications
- Experience using Empower payroll software would be an advantage but not essential.
